Illustration essays have a lot in common with narrative essays. The main difference lies in a number of examples containing in Illustration essays. To write an illustration essay successfully, try to gain your reader over by giving vivid examples.
In order to find out what exactly is meant by the vivid examples, let us present the following kinds of examples:
- Common examples – it means that you are providing examples in general, which are the most typical for the majority of people. For instance: The brightest example of deceit is a husband’s fooling about;
- Specific examples – these are the kinds of examples that present your personal experience, or the experience of people you know. For instance: My eldest brother, for example, got married at 20;
- Hypothetical examples – these are examples of events that might happen in life. For instance: But for the rain, we would go for a picnic. It is better to apply to these examples if the common and specific examples cannot reveal your idea appropriately.
You can use extended examples as well as the brief ones, it depends on the kind of specification your idea needs. If a brief example is enough to disclose the idea, that will be good. If though, you thought needs more specification, extend your example by presenting each of the examples types.
Remember that your reader needs something interesting. So, think of the examples that might involve your reader into reading. And your Illustration essay will certainly become a real success.
