Like any other type of essay, illustration essay needs statement of a problem and providing supporting evidences for the benefit of the hypothesis stated. Therefore, like any other type of essay, illustration essay should be based on properly created structure. There is a standard structure required for illustration essay. It is presented below:
• Introduction. The first paragraph of illustration essays is dedicated to a thesis statement. Firstly you should give a brief overview of the problem, just in general and then introduce your own hypothesis as for this problem. Introduction should be neither too long, nor too short. The main thing is to present the problem fully. This may take you from one to several sentences;
• Body. It is here you should start supporting your hypothesis from. Illustration of examples will be your trump card. However, statistical data or experts’ points of view will no less be good illustration for making out your case. Making the Main Body of your illustration essay should be based on the information presented in Introduction. The thoughts, key and supporting ideas should flow gradually from each other. On the whole they should make a coherent chain of statements;
• Conclusion. Probably, the most important part of your illustration essay is Conclusion. Every tutor gives his/her last hand to evaluation of the essay from its Conclusion. An effective Conclusion makes a reader keep thinking about the problem after he/she has already finished reading.
