While writing your illustration essay, you should try to provide as many vivid examples as possible.
In your illustration essay, you should provide the audience with various examples to maintain your position. Actually, illustration essay writing has much in common with narrative essay writing, but the first one provides much more instances. To gain your audience over, you should introduce the most appealing and appropriate instances in your paper.
These are the most typical types of instances you can utilize in your work:
1) Specific: such examples presuppose your own experience or the experience of people you know;
2) Typical: these examples provide the common experience;
3) Hypothetical: these examples apply if two previous types of examples are too weak to show the point.
According to another classification, examples are divided into extended and brief. You explain an idea with extended examples; when this idea is complicated, it requires some detail for much better understanding. On the other hand, brief examples are used in illustration writing regularly, as they help to clarify forthright ideas.
It is necessary for you to choose examples for your work very carefully. You need not to mention situations, which are too trite, plain, indistinct, or uninteresting.
You will need to use at least one example almost in each sentence. For sure, you will need to avoid repetitions. So, it is recommended to use seven English exemplifiers. They are “for instance,” “for example,” “namely,” “including,” “that is,” “like,” and “such as.” Instead, you can use colons. Sticking to this basic structure, you can organize your own essay as you wish.
